Weekly Wrap Up #417

I am really excited to participate in The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Reading Reality.

My Life

This week was hard. I knew that it would be hard and I was right. I had 4 long days in a row. I spent a couple of evenings doing something fun but it was still exhausting. I worked at the bookstore on Tuesday and Thursday after leaving my full-time job. On Wednesday, I went with a friend from the bookstore to see Katherine Center at my local library. She is so much fun! If you ever have the opportunity to go to one of her events, make sure you don’t miss it. She is hilarious!

Friday night, I talked my husband into going to another author event at the library. This time we saw Paul Tremblay. My husband works at the library and seems to enjoy attending some of these author events but hasn’t read a single book in the 25 years I have known him. Maybe I will convince him to pick one up sometime soon.

How was your week?

What I’m Reading

This was another week of audiobooks. I started the week with a re-read of Winter Lost by Patricia Briggs. This book is so good! Next up was Not in Love by Ali Hazelwood, which was good but less STEM-focused than expected. I am so excited to finally be able to mark The Night Ends with Fire by K.X. Song as read. This was a very enjoyable Mulan retelling.

Should I still say that I am reading This Ordinary Stardust by Alan Townsend even though I didn’t think of picking it up this week? Maybe? I do hope to get back to it soon.

Books Added

The Serial Killer Guide to San Franciso by Michelle Chouinard (Publisher); Cold as Hell by Kelley Armstrong (Publisher); The Life Impossible by Matt Haig (Publisher)

  1. Ooh fun! I haven’t been to an author event since March and I am starting to get the shakes! Lol. These were new to me authors and not quite in my wheelhouse. I find it humorous that your husband works in a library but doesn’t read. I would have thought that’s a job requirement! Lol.

Nice new reads! I still need to read this year’s new Rockton novel before I can even think about requesting next year’s! I’ve fallen so behind on Kelley’s books! It’s crazy! Hope you enjoy all of your new reads!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

**also having a really hard time trying to sign back up for posts. I clicked the notify me of new posts by email, but it doesn’t actually email me anything. It’s weird because I know awhile back you mentioned something weird happened but ever since then I can’t seem to get signed back up for them.

    • Thank you for letting me know, Jessica! I will have to see if I can figure it out. I know that I can add an email address manually. If you want me to do that, just send me a private message on Instagram and let me know what email you want me to add.

  2. So exciting you got to meet Katherine Center! I’ve enjoyed all her books I have read. I also want Cold As Hell. It’s not on Netgalley yet. I hope this week is more relaxing for you.

  3. Sounds like a very long week, and yet the author events sound like a lot of fun! I haven’t been to an author event in a really long time… I should look into my local area’s events. I hoep you have a good week coming up as well!

  4. Katherine Center was at my library this past week! She is definitely doing some traveling. I hope this week was a bit calmer and you were able to get some downtime in. The Kelley Armstrong looks really good! I read the first Casey Duncan book and loved it. I need to catch up on the series – or atleast attempt to do so!
