I am really excited to participate in The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Reading Reality.
My Life
There is a lot to unpack this week. I guess the big news is that I no longer work at the bookstore. It’s weird. I have been getting increasingly more exhausted and realized that the schedule wasn’t going to work much longer. After I did a few activities for fun on my days off last week on top of working the other evenings, I was completely drained and decided to start looking for a change. I noticed that the local library had a few open positions listed and applied. I had a phone interview on Friday and am moving on to the next step of an in-person interview next week. Keep your fingers crossed for me! These jobs can be hard to get but I am hopeful. The schedule would be the same every week, the pay would be better, they close earlier, and they are not open on weekends. If I don’t get one of the library positions I have applied for, I might return to having just one job for a while.
Saturday was my first free day in a very long time. I went shopping with my sister so we could use my employee discount at the bookstore one last time while I still have it. I had given my niece and nephew a B&N gift card for their birthday and wanted them to have a chance to get what they wanted. I spent the rest of the day just relaxing. I have a thousand things that I need to do around the house but I decided that I need to relax a bit after a very stressful week.
How was your week?
What I’m Reading
I didn’t finish a single book this week. Oops.
I didn’t pick up This Ordinary Stardust by Alan Townsend this week but it is still on my currently reading list. I am almost done with Shadowheart by Meg Gardiner and hope to finish it before I go to the library to meet the author on Tuesday. I started reading Finding Mr. Write by Kelley Armstrong one night before bed this week and am loving it. I am convinced that this author can do no wrong.
Books Added
How to Make a Horror Movie and Survive by Craig DiLouie (Publisher); Bright Objects by Ruby Todd (Publisher); Love Letters to a Serial Killer by Tasha Coryell (Publisher)

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Hoping, praying and crossing my fingers that you get that library job!
Well I am certainly happy to have you taking a break. The library job sounds more workable for you. I also believe Kelley Armstrong can do no wrong. lol
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
That will be a big change not having the B&N hours. Hope you get the library job you want- it sounds like a better fit for you the way you describe it. Nice that you could just relax for your Saturday.
Have a good week, Carole!
Carole, I am so excited for you. Sending good vibes. The library would be lucky to have you. I enjoyed Finding Mr. Write. That was my first Armstrong book since I am not a big mystery/thriller reader, and it was really good.
Good luck getting a job at the library.
Fingers crossed for a library position!!!
Good luck with the library job. Hope it works out. Having a set schedule definitely sounds like a plus. Glad you are enjoying the Armstrong book. I can’t wait to read it and like you, she can do no wrong. I’d like to know how she finds the time though to release everything she does. Hope you enjoy your week!
All fingers crossed about the library jobs and I’m so glad you are able to get some downtime. It did seem like you were running yourself ragged. I hope this week has gone well!
