I am really excited to participate in The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Reading Reality.
My Life
This was an easier week. We didn’t have a lot of commitments other than work and taking care of things around the house. We did take one of our dogs to the vet for a check up. They have been telling me that I need to get her to lose weight and she lost 6 pounds!
My position at the library is going well. The branch that I work in opened less than 2 months ago and can be very busy at times. They have a wonderful children’s area, a history & genealogy department, a creative lab with lots of neat things like 3D printers, and all of the other things you would expect to find in a library. After spending so much time at Barnes & Noble being pressured to sell books and memberships, it is nice to help people find what they want to borrow and not worry about getting a sale.
How was your week?
What I’m Reading
I finished 5 books this week. I paired The Haunting of Hecate Cavendish by Paula Brackston with a puzzle and had a fantastic time with both. I really enjoyed Even If It Breaks Your Heart by Erin Hahn and am a little mad at myself for waiting so long to read it. I thought that Apprentice to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer was a whole lot of fun and I was happy to finish a book with my eyes this week. I listened to Body Check by Elle Kennedy which is actually one of her very early works that has been recently re-released and enjoyed it but not quite as much as I have liked some of her other books. To continue the hockey romance theme, I moved on to Canadian Boyfriend by Jenny Holiday and was pulled into the story right away.
I am down to one book on my currently reading pile. I am excited to get back to Fire and Bones by Kathy Reichs.

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Glad you had a nice week and that your library job is going well! I just saw the mail flyer for upcoming events at the library and that this year’s St. Louis Teen Book Festival will be held at the library this year! So that’s exciting! Still hoping Maureen Johnson’s event gets rescheduled soon, but now she’s back in the UK. So I’m hoping she doesn’t catch COVID again if it does. I’m starting to get a bad feeling they won’t be rescheduling it at all. Just hope I don’t have to wait another 12 years for her return!
Nice new reads! Those are all new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!

Way to go, Doggo! I need to get with that diet. LOL! It is interesting to see the publishers re-releasing older works from authors who have taken off. Sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s not as good.
Great to hear this week was smoother. We have to watch ourselves from giving “treats” to Lulu to keep her weight down. It’s healthier for her. I wanted to read Canadian Boyfriend but didn’t get it and never got around to requesting at the library either.

Yay that library work is going well. I am happy that you enjoy it
Oh that’s good that your dog lost some weight. I swear I have to spoon feed my dog to get him to start eating his food. He doesn’t know how to dog. lol
Good to hear about the library job going well! There are days I really miss working at the library, even though it’s been a very long time since I had that job. (All these years later, it’s still probably my favorite place to have worked.)
I’m so glad the library job is working well! I hadn’t thought about the libary/bookstore differences but I can see how the library would be so preferable! I’m so glad to see you enjoyed Apprentice to the Villian. I loved the first book so much I pre-ordered the second book but haven’t started it yet. I hope you’re having a great week!
