Weekly Wrap Up #433

I am really excited to participate in The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Reading Reality.

My Life

It’s been a busy 2 weeks. I finished my 12 days in a row at work last Friday. Later that night, we picked one daughter and her boyfriend up at the airport and my other daughter and her husband up at the train station. Once we got everyone settled at my mom’s house (she has extra beds and I don’t) and got home to go to bed it was 2:00 am. We got up early the next morning, walked the dogs then headed back to my mom’s to spend time with our kids and have breakfast as a family. Later that night, we all headed off to my niece’s wedding. Once I got everyone dropped back off at airports and train stations on Sunday, I was exhausted and went straight to bed.

This past week has been pretty calm but I have been desperate for a day to just relax. That day will be today and I am excited about it. The library branch that I work at is an early polling place which has been rather interesting. I had hoped to be able to vote on my lunch hour but the lines have been so long that there is no way to get through them in an hour. Parking has been a nightmare. I am glad that people are voting but wish that everyone get this excited about every election, and not just the presidential elections.

How was your week?

What I’m Reading

I finished 6 books again this week. Two were really short but I will take it. Haunted Ever After by Jen DeLuca was a spooky and fun romance. I have always wanted to read Cycle of the Werewolf by Stephen King and was not disappointed when I finally found the time to pick this one up. American Rapture by C.J. Leede was the dystopian horror I didn’t know I needed. The mystery was pretty easy to figure out in The Mistletoe Mystery by Nita Prose but I found the story rather enjoyable. I finally finished The Hexologists by Josiah Bancroft and it was really good! Lyla Sage may be my favorite newer romance author and Lost and Lassoed did not disappoint.

I am currently reading Finlay Donovan Digs Her Own Grave by Elle Cosimano and it has been just as much fun as the previous books in the series. I have listened to around 60% of I Did Something Bad by Pyae Moe Thet War and can’t wait to see how things work out.

  1. How wonderful that your whole family is back together. Looks like a good time was had by all. AND I agree! Why don’t people get this excited about all elections? Local elections shape our everyday living a LOT more than federal elections. Just saying…I am excited to get back to Rebel Blue Ranch, so I am happy to hear the new Sage book was a hit for you.

  2. Glad you had a nice if busy weekend! I know I barely got any sleep on my mini trip myself. My sister wanted to go out to dinner Friday night, so I didn’t get to bed early like I wanted to. Then I ended up talking with a friend last night and doing some internet searches to help her out with something and I didn’t fall asleep til almost midnight. And yet here I still wake up early because my body demands things and then I’m up! Lol. Almost caught up on sleep so it’s all good! Glad you had a good weekend!

Nice new reads too! I’m curious about this Toto book! I saw it a little while ago and hesitated, but ended up not requesting/downloading it. My TBR is crazy right now, so I’m being very picky about what I add to it! Hope you enjoy all the lovely new reads!

  3. It looks like a hectic schedule so I am thrilled to hear you have today at home. The early voting site where I work as a poll greeter is at a college campus. It’s a newer building and has lot of parking. The lines at the longest have been an hour. No shade for us so I am pink or red most days even with sunscreen and a hat. This end of October had a huge number of book releases I want to read. Luckily, some got pushed out last minute by the publisher to November.

  4. Looks like such a good time! I hope you were able to get some good relaxing time in. I can’t imagine working in an early voting area. That has to be chaos! I hope you’ve had the very best of weeks!
