I am really excited to participate in The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Reading Reality.
My Life
This was a pretty normal week. I try to walk before going to work on Wednesday and Thursday since I don’t go in until noon on those days. The weather was great, so I decided to walk in my neighborhood and was brave enough to bring all 3 of my dogs with me. My dogs weigh 75 lbs, 50 lbs, and 46 lbs, so they outweigh me and are collectively stronger than me. We had one mishap with a loose dog in the neighborhood, but we got through it.
This is a very busy weekend for us. My husband and I went to a Cardinals game during the day and a trivia night in the evening. Both were a lot of fun! The Cardinals won, but our trivia team did not. Today we are meeting my husband’s family at a local winery for a late Easter celebration. After that, we will be heading to the zoo to see the lantern festival. This is a work event, so the library is covering the cost of admission, and it looks like it will be a good time.
How was your week?
What I’m Reading
I finished three books this week! I loved Heaven by V.C. Andrews when I read it as a teenager, and I didn’t hate it as an adult. I am really surprised by how much of the book I remembered. I am sure that if I were picking it up for the first time, I may not have enjoyed it as much as I did, but nostalgia helped. Plus, I am excited that I was able to read a book with my eyes without a lot of pain. I am a huge fan of Harlan Coben’s writing, and Nobody’s Fool did not disappoint. I loved the way the story kept me guessing until the very end. I had enough off-desk time this week to finish Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card. The book was great, and I was able to read at work. Yes, I got paid to read! So it was a win-win for me.

After finishing Heaven, I decided to jump right into Dark Angel by V.C. Andrews. I remember liking this book even more than the first in the series, and I hope that holds true for this re-read. I had been reading Tina by Niall Harbison on the computer in between patrons while I am at the library desks but I quickly discovered that it can only be opened on a certain number of computers (which I have exceeded). I can’t download it to my Kindle, so I will have to finish this book on the NetGalley app on my phone. I am not thrilled about the fact that I am jumping through hoops to read the book, but am enjoying the story.

I have listened to about 25% of Dying to Meet You by Sarina Bowen and can’t wait to get back to it. I once again didn’t make any progress with King Sorrow by Joe Hill or Before the Hunt by Barry Lyga, but I hope to get back to both very soon.

What books do you add to your shelves this week?

All 3 dogs at once, that is a lot! 😀
Oh nice! Three dogs at once is pretty daring regardless of their sizes I feel like! Lol. Glad it all went well though even with the loose dog! Yikes! Hope you have a good Easter celebration today and have fun at the zoo! I can’t remember the last time I went there, maybe a year or two ago?
Nice new read! I can’t wait to read this one even though I still need to read one or two other books by Rachel! I fell behind as usual! Luckily hers are standalones though, but this one sounded like fun too! Happy Reading!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!

I’m so thrilled you are getting some fun times and family times. With the end of the Edge series this weekend, we are starting the Innkeeper Chronicles this next week. I’m excited to read them in finished format as I have mostly read them in dribbles on the blog even though I bought them all in ebook, audio and some in Graphic audio. I’m a multiformat reader of Ilona Andrews books.

Getting paid to read while at work? Sounds like heaven to me! Glad you had such a good week. 😀
Sounds like you had a good week.
Taking all 3 dogs at once sounds challenging.
That was brave with the dog walking! It sounds fun though and I’m sure they all had a good time. Looks like you got a great bunch of books going this week though how annoying about Tina. I hope you have a great week!
