April 2017
April was a good month. It definitely feels like spring has finally arrived and I am ready for the warmer temps. I broke out the BBQ grill this month and am looking forward to many cookouts over the warmer months. I read some pretty great books this month and even had the chance to go to an author event. Overall, an excellent month!

Blogger Thoughts
- I did pretty good at planning posts and getting them done when I needed to during the month of April. I think there was only one day that I didn’t get something done that I wanted to and I had a migraine so I just decided that it could wait.
- I had 29 posts on the blog this month and only took two days off. I am really happy with those numbers.
- I read 15 books this month and finished one audiobook. This is a bit of more than I usually get to in a month. I did have a couple of books that went really quickly for me which probably explains the jump. Hopefully, I can keep up this pace!
- I did read one book that counts towards my blogger shame challenge bringing my total to 5 for the year. The book that I read this month I have actually had for over a year so it felt really good to cross it off of my list (plus it was a really good book!).
Outside of the Blog
- My daughter kept us busy again this month. She ran a half marathon and had a lot of band performances. She does all the work but we end up helping and getting her where she needs to be. That kid wears me out some days!
- I had a good Easter and was able to have a nice dinner with my husband, two daughters, and my mother. We even got to bring food home so I was able to skip cooking for two days in a row.
- I took a day off of work to go to the Cardinals game with my husband, oldest daughter, and her friend. It turned out to be a really exciting game that ended in the 11th inning with a Grand Slam. Go Cards!
- We have been walking the dogs every as long as it is pouring down rain. The dogs now expect for this to happen and as soon as I get home they start reminding me about what I should be doing. They have me trained because I usually go ahead an take them before getting to do anything else.
You've done really wel, with your blogging goals-congratulations! Here's to a successful May!
This looks like a really good month π
And yay for not having to have to cook for two days π
Fifteen books in a month, that is awesome. I managed to read 11. You have done well for the month of April. Congrats.
Wow, itβs awesome that you were able to read and blog so much. My dogs also have me trained. They know when itβs time for their walk, and they annoy me until I take them. Happy May!

You had a great month of reading and blogging! It's amazing how quickly dogs (and cats) adapt to a new routine. That's why I'm very sporadic about my walks. I don't wan't them expecting too much of me, lol.
You had a great reading, reviewing and blogging month. Cardinals and Rockies will be playing at the end of the month, we usually try to get to Denver to see them play against each other. When we visit my in-laws in Illinois we always attend a Cards game, glad you were able to get to one game so far. I'm slacking on the dog walking, maybe I'll start listening to an audio-book when I take them. Have a great day.
My father-in-law mentioned the other day that we need a BBQ–the problem is, I don't think we'd use it much. I do want to start spending more time outside though. Maybe even eat dinner out there once the winds die down some.
Way to go on the blogging front! Sounds like everything off the blog is going well for you too. I enjoy going to baseball games–it's been awhile since the last one though.
I hope you have a great week, Carole!
You had a really great month! That's a lot of reviews, you rock! I hope May is another great, productive month for you…without the migraines! Hope you are having a great week as well!
Sounds like a fun month! Great job withe the post planning and getting a book off your Blogger Shame stack. I've been enjoying this weather change to pretty and not freezing too! It's been nice to grill out and just be outside. That's great about walking the dog and it does sound like they have you trained! Hope May is fantastic!
Wow! 29 posts – you're a beast. I am salivating seeing Windfall. Maybe the library will get it soon, because I love JES, but I am not allowed to buy any new books. I have so many DRCs and unread books/ebooks AND BEA is coming up, but my loophole is that I can borrow the book from the library. =)

You were smoking this April all around. Way to go, Carole. Bet getting all that accomplished and having good family time felt great.
Enjoy your May.
I just finished Bang. Liked the story. Would love to read A Million Junes next. But good job on reading so much and having so much done in April. Congrats to your daughter too π
A good month!
Sounds like a great month and wow on the reading!!! You have some really good book coming up and can't wait to see what you think of them!
I'm inspired by your April successes! I have got to get my reading game up lol
Can't wait to see how you enjoy your upcoming reads π
Sounds like April went super well for you! 29 posts and 15 books read is really amazing. I'm sure May will be the same. Happy reading, Carole! π
Sounds like a VERY good month. All the books look good. And yay for feeling like Spring. Ours went spring–summer–winter this week. lol
Wow! You sure had a great month! Glad your daughter is getting involved in some curricular activities!

I've read a few April wrap-up posts now and it sounds like lots of people had great Aprils, you included. 29 posts is definitely impressive! I hope your May is off to a good start π
Wow, well done with the 29 posts! I wish I could do even a third of that amount in a month. Good luck with May!
It sounds like April was a really good month for you and that you were able to get a whole lot of reading done! As well as so many blog posts – you must be happy with that amount. The warmer weather, nice dinners and your daughter keeping you busy sounds like a good month ^.^
Excellent reading month! I know what you mean about busy with kids–we have track practices, meets, choir concerts, band concerts…. My dog expects a walk immediately after his evening meal. He sits in front of me or follows me around the house until I take him. So yes, we humans are trainable.
Oh, I'm dying to read Windfall! I hope you enjoy!!
