On Monday night, a neighbor’s tree fell on to the power lines coming into our house and caused a bit of a mess. We were not at home when all of this excitement took place. I was with my daughter at one of her jazz concerts and my husband was working. When my husband got home from work, the fire department was there and there had been a small fire. Thankfully, the quick actions of a neighbor who spotted the damage and called 911 right away probably saved my house and my dogs.
We are going to be without power until this mess is fixed. I have some posts already scheduled to published so those will go on as planned. If you were planning to join in on this week’s Books from the Backlist, that will continue just like always.
I will not have the ability to visit blogs and comment until our power is back up.
We are absolutely fine and my dogs are fine and that is the only things that matters. Insurance will fix the house.
I feel very lucky.
Jeez Carole, what a horrible thing to happen. I'm glad everyone and the furry friends are all ok and that your have vigilant neighbours. It doesn't bear thinking about what could have happened so I'm glad things are going to be ok.
I am so glad that my dogs were safe through the ordeal.
Ohh Carole, I am so sorry to hear about this. I am so glad that everyone is okay and I hope that your power comes back on soon. Sending you good thoughts.
Thanks, Cyndy!
Noooo, so sorry to hear (and see) this happened 🙁 Glad you are all ok and that the insurance is going to cover all the costs, though! *hugs*
It will still cost us some money with our deductible and the food that I had to throw away but I am just glad it wasn't worse.
Wow, I’m sorry that happened. I’m glad everybody is okay!

Thanks, Aj!
So glad that everyone is ok!!
That is really what is important. I wasn't really too worried about my house. I was worried about my dogs.
Oh dang, that's scary. I'm so glad you all and your dogs are alright.
I hated that we were not at home to deal with this issue. The dogs were my main concern.
oh many damages…
Nothing that can't be fixed 🙂
Dang that sucks! And scary
It was pretty frightening to think about!
All around this ended much better even without the power. I'm so glad your home, your dogs, and most of all you and your family are safe. No worries on the comments.
The fact that there was a fire, regardless of how small it was, is the part that really put things in perspective. It really hit me that we could have lost everything. I think we had a great outcome all things considered.
oh no….that sounds so scary. I am relieved to see that you and your family and your dogs are all safe and sound.
That is what is important!
Oh what a mess! Glad you're all okay!
Thanks, Katherine!
Oh no! I am so glad y’all are all okay through all of that.
It really does put things in perspective.
Oh wow, I'm so glad your neighbor was on it and your house and dogs are okay! How scary.

Thanks, Lauren!
Carole, I'm so glad that everyone is safe. How scary! Hoping for a quick resolution!
I know that the dogs had to be scared with all of the people outside of our house with nobody home. I am just glad that they are okay.
I'm so sorry! What a PIA. I'm glad your furry friends made it out ok. You're right they are the most important things. Good luck with the mess and I hope it's taken care of quickly.
It is a bit of a pain but everyone was okay so I can't complain.
I am so sorry to hear that this happened! Bless the neighbour who saw it and called the emergency services. So glad everything is safe and sound, and I hope everything gets patched up quickly <3
I am very thankful that the neighbor saw what was happening and figured out that we were not home. It could have been so much worse.
Well, that's terrible. I hope they get your repairs done quickly.
We now have the electical repairs done and hope to get the rest done very soon.
Thank goodness for your neighbors! I am glad it wasn't more serious, Carole, but how scary!
I am very thankful, Wendy!
Still just can't believe. I'm so glad everyone was okay! I know it was a pain not having power (hoping you have it back!) but dang yall have such a good attitude about it. Counting blessings for sure.
I am so thankful that our neighbor caught it. The damage is mostly repaired now and it is the back of the house so it isn't as big of a deal.
I'm really far behind on commenting (in case you haven't noticed, LOL). Glad this wasn't a bigger issue. That's so scary.

It could have been very scary but I am happy to say that we finally got everything fixed up this week.
