This week’s neglected book
My Kind of Wonderful by Jill Shalvis
Series: Cedar Ridge #2
Publication Date: December 22, 2015
Publisher: Forever (Grand Central Publishing)
UNEXPECTED AND UNDENIABLE…
Bailey Moore has an agenda: skiing in the Rockies, exploring castles in Europe, ballroom dancing in Argentina. Now that she has a second lease on life, she’s determined not to miss a thing. What she doesn’t realize is that item #1 comes with a six-foot-one ski god hot enough to melt a polar ice cap. She doesn’t want to miss out on him either, but Hudson Kincaid isn’t the type of guy to love and let go. And as gorgeous as Cedar Ridge is, she’s not planning to stick around.
As head of ski patrol at his family’s resort, Hud thinks he’s seen it all. But never has he run into someone like Bailey. She might look delicate, but her attitude is all firecracker. And her infectious joy touches something deep within him that he’s been missing far too long. Now he’ll just have to convince Bailey to take a chance on her biggest adventure yet . . . something rare and all kinds of wonderful.
Why did I add My Kind of Wonderful to my bookshelf?
I am kind of ashamed of the fact that this book is still sitting around unread. I love Jill Shalvis as regular readers of my blog probably know. I actually downloaded this book from NetGalley on October 26, 2015 and just never got around to reading it. I did read the first and third books in the series and enjoyed them so I have no idea why I skipped this one. This sounds like one I would really like to read and am hoping to fit it in before the end of the year.
What are your thoughts? Have you read this book? Would you recommend it to others?

I have odd kicks in my gallop like that, too. I have whole series read, but skipped the first one or some book in the middle yet I have it on my shelves. It does look great and perfect for this time of the year with the winter theme.
I am on vacation the week of Thanksgiving so I might try to squeeze it in then.
Shalvis is always a yes for me. Although her older stuff leans more romantic suspense, I still like it, because she has a knack for creating a cast of characters I love.
I haven't read too many Shalvis books but have loved those that I have. I can't believe that I skipped over an arc of a Shalvis book!
I don't actually have books in backlog, unless you count the classics that I haven't read and don't intend to
My backlog is just crazy!
Sounds like a fun read.
It does!
I have a couple of Shalvis books I need to get to but most them have dogs on the cover 🙂
Dogs on the cover are a big plus!
I still have this one on my shelf too! I love Jill Shalvis but for some reason this series never really grabbed me. I hope you pick this one up soon so you can give me a push to read it!
I really liked the other two books so I have no idea what my issue is.
Well it hasn't been that long since you added it so maybe there will come a day. I haven't read too many Jill Shalvis' books but she has so many.
She does have a huge backlist!
I alwaus have a good time with her books
She really does know how to tell a good story.
Ooooh, I am afraid to visit Netgalley. I have a bunch of very late ones.
I have a whole bunch that are a lot later than this one.
How weird that you jumped over this but read others in the series! I'm convinced that my kindle doesn't always show me All the books I have on it – maybe the same happened to you?
I probably went ahead and read the third one before publication so I could at least get that review in on time and just forgot about this one.
She does wrote some good stories. I don't feel so bad about my overdue Netgalley books now. LOL I have some hanging around for about this long too.
I am pretty sure that I have a books from 2013 that I still need to read for NetGalley. I should be ashamed!
Neglected kind of sums up my reading at the moment but I need to get on track tomorrow. It's just been one of those weeks with too much happening! I hope you enjoy this when you get the chance!
I am getting through audiobooks but I have had almost no reading time. It's driving me crazy!
I read this one and I really liked it. But I really loved this series, need to finish it myself
I am looking forward to tackling it before the year is over.
I love Jill Shalvis and I loved Hud, so I enjoyed this book. Shalvis is a go-to for romance for me. I hope you get to it.
I shudder to think about doing this challenge I have piles of stuff. Mostly things I have purchased or want to get from the library. I try to keep super up-to-date on my ARCs. Anne – Books of My Heart
I do much better with arcs now but I have a small pile that I didn't get to every year since 2013 which has turned into a pretty big stack of books!
I love this post and have been seeing it on a couple of blogs I follow. Decided I would head over here and check you out, maybe think of signing up. I am a new follower, so I'll be watching. 🙂
