August 2021
Can someone please explain to me how it is September already? August was a bit of a blur. My daughter moved back to college and celebrated her 21st birthday which kept things busy around the house. We spent a lot of time working on our house and my mother’s home. The dogs were walked approximately 10,000 times regardless of the temperatures outside. Work was crazy as we prepared to move.
I bought a lot of books in August since I was able to go to three different book fairs. I even had the experience of shopping for books in the dark with a flashlight which is a memory I won’t forget anytime soon. My reading is still down from where I want it and I cannot believe that I was only able to read 4 books that were not audiobooks. I am definitely not getting enough time to curl up with a book lately! I did a lot of mood reading during the month which helped me get excited about reading and pick up the pace again. I completely failed when it came to getting around to other blogs and being an active part of the community. I guess I am a work in progress. I have tried to post on Instagram as much as I could but often skipped days. My follower count is now up to 1,738 which I hope continues to grow.

How was your month? Do you have any reading or blogging goals for September?
I’m asking myself the same thing, it doesn’t seem possible that is September already . . . *sigh*
You shared interesting titles and, I must say, Feral Creatures looks particularly interesting. I should probably add that and the first instalment to my list!
August was too hot for me, I’m happy it’s September. Time to bring out the Fall decorations!
I feel the same way – how the heck is in September? So great that you were able to hit up several book fairs last month. And hopefully September will bring a little more reading time!
I can’t believe it is September, either! I spent most of August settling into my new place….but I did seem to read more than usual, with 14 books finished!
Enjoy your upcoming reading!
We are all works in progress Carole. You’re reading great books and as long as you enjoy them that’s what you need to do. I just have not chosen to do Instagram but it has got you into a lot of followers. You’re rereading Jim Butcher – that’s my Read-along coming up in a couple years.
Your EW stats are really good. I am terrible there. Not even sure what my ratio is, but I know I have more than 4 I need to review. Enjoy all your new books, and good luck with the move.
Despite all the challenges faced, you had a good reading month.
Yeah, August was a quick one because we were so busy, too. LOL, love that you shopped at a book fair with a flashlight. Hopefully, your reading can pick up again as you finish off that work move and have things settle down at home.
Have a great September, Carole!
Despite the busy month you did really good!
August definitely sounds like a crazy month for you! Audio books to the rescue! There are some months when I’m convinced I wouldn’t get anything read if it wasn’t for them. Have a wonderful September!
Good books there! ANd yes where did Aug go?!
Your August sounds quite busy! I hope your daughter got off to college well. So many book fair trips! I am jealous. 🙂 I hope you enjoy your new books and have a great September!
