February 2022 Wrap Up

February 2022

February felt like winter.  We had 3 separate storms that resulted in 5 days that I was able to work from home.  Shoveling snow isn’t my favorite activity but I didn’t mind being able to stay at home during those 5 days.  We stayed at home for much of the month unless we were out walking our 3 spoiled dogs.

I feel like I stayed on track with my reading this month and I really enjoyed everything I read.  I was able to knock 5 past due NetGalley books from my tbr and I am feeling good about reaching my goal of getting caught up this year.  I have continued to work on my Instagram page and am ending the month with 2,756 followers. (I only include this statistic so that I can keep track of my rate of growth.)

  1. I had two snow days earlier in February. I was hoping to get another last week, but alas, it was not meant to be. LOL

I’m hoping to focus more on some Netgalley ARCs this month as I’m a bit behind!

    • It was really unusual to get so many snow days but I kind of liked being home for the day! I really want to catch up with NetGalley and never let myself fall behind like this again!

    • It’s pretty to look at. Not so pretty to drive in or shovel. I can understand how you would want to see it for yourself though.

    • I am having fun with Instagram! I like to learn new things and I am enjoying learning about photography and putting together slideshows. I don’t use my phone’s camera since it tends to take just okay photos.

  2. Your reward for shoveling was work from home. It’s nice your job allowed that. I hope, now that I am back to office, that they will be flexible for me. I usually just call out where there’s weather.

    • I would not have come in if the owner had expected me to and he knew that. I am not sure if that factored into his decision to let us work from home.

  3. Looks like you had a pretty great month. We had quite a bit of snow in January but February was pretty quiet and I’m just ready for spring now, lol. My only real goal for March is to get reviews for all of my ARCs posted on time. I’m not confident I’ll be able to achieve it, but we’ll see. 🙂

  4. That’s wonderful that you were able to check off 5 old Netgalley reads! I have a few really old ones I need to get through as well. I checked off two last month and it feels really good!

Hope you get some warmer weather your way. We had super warm weather here today and the last few days (85 degrees!) and I’m not a fan of it being so warm in February but we’re cooling off this next week.

    • It has been warmer the past few days which has been nice. I am so excited to see my NetGalley shelf shrink. I feel so guilty about having all of these past due books so it feels good to get them read.

  5. We had a wintry February, too. Love that you got to work from home- good mental health break. Way to go on your clearing out past due review books. You’re really cooking for that goal and your overall reading.
Nicely done on your Instagram build up, too. I enjoy seeing your posts there.

    Have a great March, Carole!

    • It was nice being able to just stay in the house when it was so yucky outside. I am sure that my totals will drop once it starts getting a little warmer.
