April 2022 Wrap Up

April 2022

This year really seems to be flying by, doesn’t it?  April was a good month.  I took a week off work and just hung around the house reading.  I can’t think of a better way to spend a nice relaxing week.  We celebrated Easter and went to my daughter’s college recital.  I spent a lot of my time walking the dogs, doing household chores, and reading as much as possible.

I was able to read 20 books this month which is more than my usual.  This is largely due to the fact that I was off work for a week but also because I picked some shorter books to read this month.  I read and reviewed the last Edelweiss book that I owed a review on.  I am looking forward to using the site responsibly moving forward.  I am still plugging away on Instagram even though it can be incredibly frustrating at times.  I am currently at 3,209 followers on the platform.

I am linking this post to the Monthly Wrap-Up at Feed Your Fiction Addiction.

  1. Oh my 20 books is a fantastic total, I’m lucky to get 10 now that my husband needs more care. There are some up there that are on my list too. I can’t wait to see what you thought of Dolly and Patterson’s book it’s on my list

    • I liked Run Rose Run. I listened to the audiobook and the narration was great. It was a fun story! I should have my review up sometime next week.

    • I probably bought more than 20 books during the month so I didn’t even make a dent in the tbr pile!

  2. I don’t think I’ve ever read 20 books in a month – even with a week of vacation. 🙂 Go you! I haven’t used Edelweiss in 2 years or more. My approval rate was much spottier there than with Netgalley. Not that I use Netgalley much anymore either. I think I have one outstanding book to review and I’ll probably get it posted this week. Then… nothing! Back to reading all the books on my shelves. 🙂

    • My husband was at work while I was home during my vacation or I wouldn’t have been able to read much during the week that I was off. It has been a very long time since I requested anything on Edelweiss but I might now that I am caught up.

  3. It’s great that you read so much, and staycations are always good for the soul. I never read more when I have days off. I am a time waster.

    • With 3 dogs, it is hard to actually go anywhere so we usually do staycations. I did enjoy my extra reading time.

  4. April sounded great for you and wait to go reading so many and finishing your Edelweiss backlist. I’m plucking away at my older ones on NetGalley and trying hard not to click requests for too many now. Neat that you got to some from your own shelves and the library, too.

    Have a great May, Carole!

    • I have really slowed down my requesting as well. I won’t get caught up with NetGalley this year but I might get close.

  5. Wow look at all fo the books you read and some by my favorite authors (I adore Bittner and Zanetti) I really need to get back to the Scorpious series though.
