I am really excited to participate in The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Reading Reality.
My Life
This was a calmer week work-wise. I only worked 2 shifts at the bookstore but one of those shifts took up my whole Saturday. Things were pretty quiet at my full-time job and I actually spent Friday alone in the office.
I didn’t really do a lot other than work outside of my normal routines. My dogs took daily walks. I worked on reviews and tried to read as much as possible. We closed the pool last weekend so I am ready for fall to finally get here.
How was your week?
What I’m Reading
I read 3 books this week. I worked less and still read less. Doesn’t make sense does it? I really liked Find Him Where You Left Him Dead by Kristen Simmons and had a hard time putting it down. Starling House by Alix. E. Harrow was just as good as I had hoped it would be. I am so glad that I finally tackled Pet Sematary by Stephen King and understand why it is a favorite for a lot of readers.
I have read almost half of Midnight is the Darkest House by Ashley Winstead and can’t wait to see what happens next. I have listened to 80% of After the Forest by Kell Woods and am loving it!
Books Added
I’m Your Guy by Sarina Bowen (Author/Publicist); Cocktails & Chloroform by Kelley Armstrong (Publisher); The Hexologists by Josiah Bancroft (Publisher)

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
It’s good you are still able to find time to read, and it seems like you are reading stuff that is working well for you too. Have a great week, Carole!
Glad you had a calmer week! That’s always nice! Hope this week will be just as nice for you too! I am so ready for fall weather, if only we could get some! Lol.
Nice new reads! I’m super curious about The September House! Reading good things about it and it sounds like a perfectly creepy read!
Happy Reading!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
I find when I have more free time, I sometimes get less done. I think it the mindset of “There’s always more time I can do it later” which catches up with me. I see a few books here I need to look for or add to my list. I LOVED The September House and highly recommend it to anyone who loves spooky reads. Hope you have a great week!
Glad the work was more steady and you had some quiet time at the first job. LOL, more time and less reading. I’m in fall mode around our place, too.
Way to go getting to some spooky reads and wow, what a haul stack this week.
Have a good week, Carole!
It seems like a quieter week and that’s great. We all need some time to unwind a bit. I’m feeling behind so I hope to catch up read this week. I like it better when I’m ahead. It’s harder with audio which I get closer to release date. And there are some looong audio books these days!

The Hexologists looks like a lot of fun! I’m really curious about that one. Happy reading!
Falcor got his cone off this past week so we’re both a lot better. lol
Hopefully you have some time to read this coming week.
The new Armstrong looks good.
Woah Ghost Station! Need to get that. The author is going to be at our local comic con next month…
Happy to hear you’ve had a quieter week. I’m thinking about reading/listening to Midnight is the Darkest Hour as well. Looking forward to your thoughts!
Sounds like a good week. I have I’m Your Guy on my list as well. Hope you have a great week.
