Stacking the Shelves #25

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews

Another busy week at my house!  I am sure that a day will come when I will miss these busy months but right now I just feel like I need a break.  My youngest daughter was in a Low Brass Band Camp this week that met during the day which meant that we had to figure out how to get her there and home every day in addition to getting ourselves to work as close to on time as possible.  This week was brutally hot and I think that the heat just took all of my energy.  I did finish a book and an audiobook this week so I think my reading might be getting back on track.

Digital Books
Hello? by Liza Weimer (Kindle Purchase)
HIghland Fling by Amanda Scott (Kindle Freebie)

I have had my eye on Hello? for some time but the price was right this week at only $0.99 when it was the Kindle Daily Deal.  I actually had a few dollars of promotional credit on Amazon so I able to use that to pay for this book.  I was pretty happy to grab this book for no money out of my pocket.  I don’t think that I have read Amanda Scott before but I was excited to grab Highland Fling as a freebie this week.

Audiobooks
Beneath These Lies by Meghan March (For Review)
The Oedipus Plays by Sophocles (Audible Freebie)
My Antonia by Willa Cather (Audible Freebie)

I am thrilled with the audiobooks that I picked up this week.  I actually listened to Beneath These Lies as soon as I had it loaded on my phone and loved it.  I am curious about The Oedipus Plays so we will see how that one goes.  I loved My Antonia when I read in school years ago and thought it might be time to revisit the story.

What books do you add to your shelves this week?

  1. Oh, I'm curious about the Oedipus plays as well. Let's hope you'll enjoy it. Looking forward to reading your thoughts on these!

    Happy reading, Carole!

  2. I think I read and enjoyed an Amanda Scott historical a few years back. This one looks good. Fun title for Hello?

    Enjoy your haul.

  3. Great haul! I hope you enjoy all of these. Ugh, the heat here in AL has been like walking around Las Vegas, for me. I am so happy whenever my day is done and I come home in the evenings. I've been busy with work, my sister, and a whole lot of other things lately, but I can't wait for my vacation next month. I am so ready for the beach!

  4. Great books this week and you got some fantastic deals! I haven't read My Antonia in so long – probably since school – but I'd love to reread the book. I'm curious about Hello? and Beneath the Lies. Sounds like a good bookish week!

  5. Audio Books are a great way to read on the go. I like listening to them as I do housework. I haven't read My Antonia, but I am going to try and look it up. Have a fun week.

  6. I feel like I've seen Hello? around somewhere but I don't remember when/where/how. Weird. It looks good though. And it was cheap. Bonus!

    I hope you enjoy!

  7. I saw the Hello? sale! I love that the publisher keeps doing them for the book, it's a great way to pull in new readers. I hope you enjoy all of your new books!

Have a fabulous week, Carole. 🙂

    Check out my STS post!

  8. Hello? looks interesting and it's great you didn't even have to spend any of your own money on it. I had a few First to Read books in this week's haul. I've been hit or miss on my choices there so I hope these two are really good.
