January 2017 – Monthly Wrap-Up

January 2017

I have picked up the pace with my reading this year which is a very good thing.  I am trying to be very selective about any new books that I add especially books for review.  I am determined to get a lot of the past due reviews posted this year and have already posted 2 reviews toward the Blogger Shame challenge.  Hopefully, I can keep up this pace!

Blogger Thoughts
  • I think I have finally found a blogger rhythm that works for me.  I am getting the bulk of my posts for the week done on the weekends so I don’t feel so overwhelmed.  It is working so I plan to continue.
  • I posted 30 out of 31 days this month which is a big accomplishment for me.  I probably won’t continue at this pace all year but as long as I am reading fast and I plan to review as soon as I can.
  • I have really been able to read quite a bit this month.  15 books total including an audiobook.  I also made a lot of progress on another audiobook but it is over 55 hours long so it will take a while.
  • I did better with commenting this month.  I would still like to visit more blogs but I did do quite a bit this month and hope to continue
Outside of the Blog
  • This has been a nice quiet month so I have had a chance to do a lot of reading which make me very happy.
  • I did get a few days of work during the month to hang out around the house which was perfect.
  • I am still walking all 3 dogs almost everyday.  We did miss a couple of days with the icy conditions but that couldn’t be helped.
  • I have decided to really make an effort to eat better.  I love fruits and veggies but I also like cakes and candy so I really need to work on finding a better balance.

  1. ohwow, 30 out of 31 days. that's just amazing! I really wish I could also write all my posts in the weekend but I'm generally just too busy or unmotivated during the weekend. Hope you have a great February ahead, Carole 🙂

  2. I think you have had a pretty good month overall! My aim is to post every day but to be fair, I do have more time for that than most people so I have an advantage there. I do need to work on getting ahead on blog posts so I have things ready if I hit a busy spell or illness or something.

And may I say it's always great to welcome you over at The Book Cave!

  3. Wow! 30 blog posts in one month?! That's fantastic! Good for you! I posted every day in January except on Sundays. I like giving myself a free day. I've actually been pretty good about scheduling blog posts in advance too. It's so much less stressful. Hope you have just as productive of a February!

  4. What a great month Carole. I'm so envious of your reading accomplishments. January was quite a slow month for me – I blame Little Heaven. You had some great reads this month and congrats on finding a system that works!

  5. You get so much done in a month. I'm super jealous.

I've been meaning to get on the monthly wrap-up bandwagon, but I feel like there's very little I'd actually get to wrap up. 😉

  6. That's a lot of books! Good luck with your healthier eating plan. I love cupcakes/chocolate so I found it best to limit myself to one sweet on the weekend. So far I haven't wanted to murder anyone, lol.

    • I am listening to A Breath of Snow and Ashes (Outlander Book #6) which is 57 hours and 46 minutes long. It is quite the commitment! It has to be downloaded in parts because it is so long. I am currently on part 3 of 7. I will be ready for a few shorter books after this monster!

  7. Very nice report, Carole. I love seeing you hitting your goals and getting some extra time to do what you want. I, too, struggle with healthy eating decisions.

  8. Girl, you are seriously blogger goals. I don't know how you manage to do it all! That is so much posting, reviewing, and reading as well! It's good that you're able to go out walking almost every day… and I really hope the healthy eating works out for you! I actually love doing it myself :3

  9. I'm trying that too, getting a bunch of my reviews for the week done on the weekend.
Looks like you read/reviewed some great books Jan! I loved Accidentally on Purpose, and Big Rock is pretty funny. I need to check out Frostblood still. Happy reading!
