Stacking the Shelves #71

Posted May 27, 2017 by Carole in Stacking the Shelves / 18 Comments

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews
This was a pretty calm week which was a good thing.  My daughter finished up her sophomore year of high school.  I can’t believe that my baby will be a junior next year.  Time really flies by when you aren’t looking.  My twin niece and nephew turned 3 this week.  I am going to let each of them make a bear at Build a Bear for their birthday this weekend.  I can’t wait!

I hope that all of my U.S. readers enjoy their Memorial Day weekend!

Digital Books

Seeing Red by Sandra Brown (NetGalley)
Knight on the Texas Plains by Linda Broday (NetGalley)
The Cajun Doctor by Sandra Hill (Edelweiss)
The Alice Network by Kate Quinn (Edelweiss)
Lost and Found Sisters by Jill Shalvis (Edelweiss)

I am really excited about this group of books!  I always look forward to getting my hands on a new Sandra Brown book so I was really excited to be approved for Seeing Red.  Jill Shalvis is another author that I always have good luck with so I am thrilled to get a chance to read her upcoming novel.  Linda Broday, Sandra Hill, and Kate Quinn are authors that I haven’t tried yet so I am eager to see what I think of their books and writing style.

Print Books

Small Hours by Jennifer Kitses (Publisher – Grand Central Publishing)

I thought that the premise for this story sounds really good so I am looking forward to reading this book in the next few weeks.

  1. I still adore Build a Bear myself! Lol!! They're just so darn cute!! I think it was two years ago, I went and built the Halloween Zombie Bear because I thought it was adorable! Lol!! Nice new reads! They're new to me ones but I hope you love them when you read them!

My STS will be up tomorrow, stop by then if you can!

  2. I want to read Lost and Found Sisters – how could I not with that dog on the cover? High school does fly by and before you know it, she'll be starting college (or adulthood – whichever she chooses. Hope you have a wonderful week.

  3. We took my daughter to Build a Bear and she LOVED it! She made a pink kitty cat and she still loves it. Hope they have a great time, and that you enjoy all of your new books!

  4. I've got a lot of Build A Bear monkeys…they are my children! In fact I need to get some new sweatshirts/hoodies for a few of them. This week it's horror books at The Book Cave! Have a good weekend!

  5. Our kiddos grow so fast, hope your daughter had a wonderful summer vacation. I still enjoy going to Build a Bear, they have such cute little outfits. I have a little dog with a Colorado Rockies outfit on my bookshelf 🙂 I picked up Size Matters this week after reading your review, I'm looking forward to it. Enjoy your new reads, you have a great selection to pick from. Have a wonderful day.

  6. Oooo, just wait until she goes to college. 😀 I've not read anything by Sandra Hill but I've heard good things about her books! I hope you enjoy all of your new additions, Carole!

    Have a wonderful weekend. =)

  7. It seems to me that you had a great week, Carole. Glad to hear about your daughter. Yes, Kids do grow fast. Have a wonderful week and happy reading. 🙂

  8. Build-A-Bear is so much fun. 🙂 I am sure the kids will love it. A junior already! Where does the time go? Mine will be in first grade this next school year.

All your new books look good. I'm especially interested in The Alice Network, although Shalvis's book also caught my eye. I haven't had luck with Sandra Hill, but hopefully you will enjoy her work. Maybe I just haven't read the right books by her.

I hope you have a great week, Carole!
