Stacking the Shelves #75

Posted June 24, 2017 by Carole in Stacking the Shelves / 13 Comments

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality
It has been a really quiet week with my daughter away at camp.  Driving from St. Louis to Bloomington, Indiana and back in a single day to get her to camp was exhausting on Sunday and we are making the same trip today to pick her up.  She will only stay home for a single night before she head off to drum major camp which thankfully is only for a few nights and close to home.

Please be patient with me since I am traveling this weekend.  I hope to catch up on comments very soon!

Digital Books

The Sea King by C.L. Wilson (Edelweiss)
So I Married a Sorcerer by Kerrelyn (NetGalley)
Scandalous Ever After by Theresa Romain (NetGalley)
Girl Last Seen by Nina Laurin (NetGalley)
The Address by Fiona Davis (First to Read)
The Kept Woman by Karin Slaughter (Kindle Purchase)

I have to admit that I was really surprised to get approved for The Sea King so quickly.  I am looking forward to it.  I can’t wait to read So I Married a Sorcerer and downloaded the book as soon as the widget hit my email.  I have been wanting to read Theresa Romain so I am happy to have one of her books for review.

Print Books

Dark Saturday by Nicci French (Won – LibraryThing Early Reviewers)
Ink and Bone by Rachel Caine (Blogging for Books)

I was so excited to see Ink and Bone offered on Blogging for Books.  I can’t wait to get started on this series.  Nicci French is an author that I have wanted to read for a while so I am looking forward reading to Dark Saturday.

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!

  1. So many great looking books! I really wanted to get a copy of Ink and Bone when I saw it on Blogging for Books but I'm already so buried under ARCs. I'm trying to go on a bit of an ARC freeze….we'll see how that goes tho. lol! Hope you love all of your new books, and have a great weekend!

  2. That is definitely a lot of driving! And I thought I was tough stuff for going to Naperville (4.5 hours) back and forth in a day! Lol!

Hope you get some downtime soon! Nice new reads too! All totally new to me but I hope you will enjoy them all!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

  3. I wouldn't have been a camp kind of child! I always spent my summers reading so organised fun and activity would never have appealed to me! I hate a lot of driving. It takes about 5 hours to drive down to my favourite holiday resort and I just hate the journey! Drive safe and then put your feet up for a nice rest hopefully!

  4. I am actually working on finishing The Great Library series. My load came up on Overdrive for book 2, and I have a DRC of the 3rd one. Hope you enjoy all your new books.

  5. Safe travels, Carole! And nice big haul. πŸ™‚ I got two audios this week that I can't wait to load up and listen.

  6. Whew! Sounds like things will be crazy for you for a bit. A kid in band is basically a full time job for a parent just getting them everywhere they need to be! Hopefully she has a great time. You got some great looking books. I'm really curious about Girl Last Seen, The Address, and Ink and Bone. Have a great week!

  7. Awesome looking books. I remember being a kid in band and there is so much that goes into it. The parents definitely need a pat on the back. Also, it's one of the reasons my Dad bought me a used car when I turned 16 and got my license. He was sick of picking me up from away football games around 1am – haha. Hope you enjoy these books. I read my first Karin Slaughter two years ago and really enjoyed it.

  8. I am currently abroad and traveling this month as well, so I know how hard it can be to keep up with blogging duties while being away as well! I am glad you got so many nice new books though. I have heard a lot of positive things about Ink and Bone as well!
