Stacking the Shelves #80

Posted July 29, 2017 by Carole in Stacking the Shelves / 44 Comments

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality
The week started out just fine.  On Tuesday night, I had a migraine start with visual involvement.  It stuck around for a couple of days and was really not a lot of fun.  I had a hard time focusing on anything and just felt lousy.  I did feel okay enough to watch a little TV so I started Season 1 of Game of Thrones.  I have only watched the first two episodes but am looking forward to more soon.  I also watched Midnight Texas this week and thought it was a lot of fun.

Digital Books

Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas (Kindle Purchase)
Outlaw Hearts by Rosanne Bittner (Kindle Purchase)
Do Not Forsake Me by Rosanne Bittner (Kindle Purchase)

I stayed off of NetGalley and Edelweiss this week and that is a big accomplishment for me!  I bought Queen of Shadows when I saw it for sale on Amazon for $2.99.  I now have the whole series…I just need to start reading them.  I plan to start reading Rosanne Bittner’s Outlaw Hearts series in the next week or so.  I found my paperback copied of the first two books this week to get them ready to go. I  opened them to take a look only to see that the print is so tiny that I am not going to be able to read it comfortably…so I checked Amazon and bought the kindle versions.  Do Not Forsake Me was on sale for $0.99 so it wasn’t a huge set back but it is frustrating to be forced to buy a book a second time because of tiny print.  I can read normal size print but when publishers start moving to super tiny font, I am going to have issues.

Print Books
Project Pandora by Aden Polydoros (From Publisher – Entangled Teen)

I was asked by the publisher to review this book.  It sounds great and I am looking forward to it.  It did take a while to get here and to be honest, I had kind of given up on it and took it off of my reading calendar.  Now I need to squeeze it back into my reading schedule.
Audiobooks

Wildfire by Ilona Andrews (Audible Purchase)
I don’t usually remember to include my audio additions.  I pre-ordered this book a few months ago and can’t wait to immerse myself in this wonderful story yet again.

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!

  1. oh you added some good ones to your shelves. I am so thrilled that you will be reading the Outlaw Hearts series soon. I have noticed that Sourcebooks has made their printed books print smaller lately.

  2. Ugh, migraines suck. I tend to get headaches more than anything, but I still feel your pain! Nice new reads! Totally new to me ones! Hope you enjoy them all!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

  3. Really hope you love Game of Thrones! It just gets better as the seasons go on! My dad has finished watching season five so he's getting there! I was blubbering at the end of episode two in season one…I'm such a soft touch!

  4. Bummer about the migraine. Oh hey… didn't know Midnight Texas is on. I loved the trilogy.
Neat that you got the Rosanne Bittners, but yeah, I can't do tiny print anymore, either. Wildfire!!! Now that will be fun, too.

    Have a migraine-less week, Carole! šŸ™‚

  5. I just finished The Address and loved it! I loved all the historical details for both periods. I hope you like it.

  6. Oh my! Those are lovely books you've got there Carole

And did you just said you started watching the Game of Thrones?! My! I've been following that series and it gets better in every episodes. I'm still sad about my favorite character's death but overall, this series is aha-mazing!

  7. Wow, amazingly well done for staying off of both! I barely ever go on netgalley now but Edelweiss… is still my biggest temptation. I am sorry to hear about your migraines and how much they bothered you though šŸ™

  8. Oh man! That stinks on the migraine. I've been getting headaches from the heat but nothing that severe. I hope you're feeling better and have an easier week! Yay for Bittner! Such a pretty read šŸ™‚

  9. I'm so sorry to hear about your migraine! I hope you're feeling better now. It's awful how debilitating those are. I keep forgetting about Midnight! I'll have to check and see if it's On Demand or Hulu so I can catch up. Congrats on staying off of NetGalley and Edelweiss! I was not as well behaved! Have a great week!

  10. I love the covers of Rosanne Bittner's books! That purple one is SO gorgeous. I love sales!

I hope you are migraine-free this week! Enjoy your new books!

Have a lovely week, Carole. =)

  11. I have seen Wildfire on a few blogs. I need to check it out. ToG is one of my fave series. . I am excited to get new books in the series soon.

  12. I'd say wait for the entire Throne of Glass series to be out before starting it. Then, you can just binge the entire thing. šŸ˜‰

  13. I really need to read Project Pandora as well. I was approved late, like you and am finding I have to make time for it. I hope we both enjoy it.
