I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality.
I had a pretty good week even though it was rather busy. I was really slow in terms of reading but that isn’t surprising since I had so many things to do. I keep thinking that things will calm down soon but I should just be honest with myself that life is going to be like this until marching band season is over.
My heart goes out to everyone that has been affected by Hurricane Harvey.
I hope that everyone celebrating Labor Day this weekend has a happy and safe holiday.
Digital Books
A Treacherous Curse by Deanna Raybourn (Edelweiss)
City of Lies by Victoria Thompson (Edelweiss)
A Death in Live Oak by James Grippando (Edelweiss)
Every Dog Has His Day by Jenn McKinlay (NetGalley)
I am so excited by this group of books! Deanna Raybourn, James Grippando, and Jenn McKinlay are all authors that I have read and loved. I haven’t read Victoria Thompson yet but City of Lies sounds really good.
Print Books

I keep thinking things will slow down here too and not yet. Your new books look great – enjoy! Have a great week!
In a couple of years, my daughter will go away to college…so maybe it will slow down then π
Nice new reads! Hope this week proves to be a little less busy for you and you can get some reading time in!
My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!
Have a GREAT day!

The cover for A Treacherous Curse is just so pretty! I've used NetGallery before but I haven't branched out to Edelweiss yet.

It is beautiful! NetGalley and Edelweiss are both awesome sources.

Aj @ Read All The Things!
I have been having my own personal read-a-thon!
Ha! As if things will actually ever slow down.. I live with the same illusion, though π
Your new books look really good, and I hope you'll enjoy them.
Have a wonderful weekend and happy reading.
Lexxie @ (un)Conventional Bookviews
Maybe when my daughter goes off to college or I retire huh? There will always be more to do than time to do it. Thanks, Lexxie!
I wanted City of Lies but didn't get approved I guess, oh well it's not like I don't have enough to read. π I have seen the Devil and Thieves one around a bit. Hope you enjoy them all!
Stormi
I couldn't resist City of Lies. It looks so good!
Devils & Thieves is on my TBR too. It sounds good. I'm excited to see what you think though. π
I am looking forward to it. Hopefully, I can get to it in the next week or two.
I haven't yet read Deanna Raybourn, but every time I see her lovely books, I am reminded that I need to do just that.
Enjoy! Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

I am loving those covers. I have my fingers crossed about Devils & Thieves.
Oh, I am definitely crossing my fingers to get picked for the Deanna Raybourne. And yeah, this is a really busy time of the year and I've given up on slow downs for a while. π
The Raybourne book is one that I am really excited to read. I think the series has been great so far!
YAY! I also got Devils & Thieves. I am so excited to read it – I loved Jennifer Rush's debut trilogy. This book sounds awesome. I hope you enjoy all of your new books!

Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!
This will be the first time for me to read this author and I am looking forward to it.
I am drooling over all your wonderful books, Carole. I really need to get started on that series by Raybourn and City of Lies sounds so good! I hope you enjoy your books! Have a great week, Carole!
I really think you would enjoy Deanna Raybournes series. I am excited about this mix of books!
When I see how busy everyone is with their kids various activities it makes me grateful that I can be nice and selfish with my time, not having these committments! I'd never keep up with blogging and reading if I had a family so I don't know how you guys do it! Hope you get some decent reading in this week!
I love my family but with work and all they need me to do there just isn't enough time some days. Thanks for your kind words!
You always find the cutest looking romances that have furry animal friends involved. I really love the cover for A Treacherous Curse! I hope you have a great week, and happy reading!
Furry animal friends just make romances a little better π
My finger keeps hovering over the download button for A Treacherous Curse, but I haven't read the other books. So, I will continue to resist this urge. I hope you love all your new books!
I clicked so fast you would believe it, Sam! I have read the first two and enjoyed them but I do understand what you are talking about.
Oh nice! I hope you enjoy them.
Thanks!
Book mail is so fun! I love getting packages with lovely new books. I hope you enjoy all your new reads. Have a great week!
Book mail is the best!
I haven't read from any of these authors, I may have to look into them. I hope you enjoy all your new reads. Have a wonderful week.
Thank you!
Ooo! City of Lies looks great! They all look good though. Hope you enjoy them.
Have a great week Carole! ~Aleen
I am looking forward to that one!
Ohh they all look SO good, Carole. I hope you enjoy them all. Happy reading, my friend. π
Thanks, Geybie!
I haven't heard of any of these books but from the covers The Treacherous Curse and City of Lies look pretty good to me. Yes, busy is good, as long as you're enjoying yourself for the most part π
I love those covers. I don't really care for busy but it will pass soon.
I remember the fun of marching band season. So fun but so crazy! It definitely cuts down on reading time. I really want to read the Jenn McKinlay books. I've really enjoyed her cozy mysteries and this dog series is pulling at me hard! Have a great week!
Marching band is a little crazy. I really think you would enjoy the Jenn McKinlay romance that I have had the chance to read.
Gosh, I've been slow with my reading too… but I hope I can pick it up this weekend. Maybe π
It is hard to find enough time in the day to get everything done some days.
Devils and Thieves — couldn't resist that title, and I wasn't disappointed — it's such a cool premise. A Death in Live Oak sounds intriguing as well — thank you for the intro to a new author!
I really enjoy James Grippando's writing and have been reading his work for a long time. I am actually surprised that he isn't more popular than he it.
