Stacking the Shelves #85

Posted September 2, 2017 by Carole in Stacking the Shelves / 62 Comments

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality
I had a pretty good week even though it was rather busy.  I was really slow in terms of reading but that isn’t surprising since I had so many things to do.  I keep thinking that things will calm down soon but I should just be honest with myself that life is going to be like this until marching band season is over.

My heart goes out to everyone that has been affected by Hurricane Harvey.

I hope that everyone celebrating Labor Day this weekend has a happy and safe holiday.

Digital Books

A Treacherous Curse by Deanna Raybourn (Edelweiss)
City of Lies by Victoria Thompson (Edelweiss)
A Death in Live Oak by James Grippando (Edelweiss)
Every Dog Has His Day by Jenn McKinlay (NetGalley)

I am so excited by this group of books!  Deanna Raybourn, James Grippando, and Jenn McKinlay are all authors that I have read and loved.  I haven’t read Victoria Thompson yet but City of Lies sounds really good.

Print Books

Devils & Thieves by Jennifer Rush (ARC from Novl)

I am very happy that this book made its way to my house this week.  Thank you to the nice people at Novl for sending it to me!

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!

  1. I wanted City of Lies but didn't get approved I guess, oh well it's not like I don't have enough to read. πŸ™‚ I have seen the Devil and Thieves one around a bit. Hope you enjoy them all!

  2. Oh, I am definitely crossing my fingers to get picked for the Deanna Raybourne. And yeah, this is a really busy time of the year and I've given up on slow downs for a while. πŸ™‚

  3. YAY! I also got Devils & Thieves. I am so excited to read it – I loved Jennifer Rush's debut trilogy. This book sounds awesome. I hope you enjoy all of your new books!

  4. I am drooling over all your wonderful books, Carole. I really need to get started on that series by Raybourn and City of Lies sounds so good! I hope you enjoy your books! Have a great week, Carole!

  5. When I see how busy everyone is with their kids various activities it makes me grateful that I can be nice and selfish with my time, not having these committments! I'd never keep up with blogging and reading if I had a family so I don't know how you guys do it! Hope you get some decent reading in this week!

  6. You always find the cutest looking romances that have furry animal friends involved. I really love the cover for A Treacherous Curse! I hope you have a great week, and happy reading!

  7. My finger keeps hovering over the download button for A Treacherous Curse, but I haven't read the other books. So, I will continue to resist this urge. I hope you love all your new books!

  8. Book mail is so fun! I love getting packages with lovely new books. I hope you enjoy all your new reads. Have a great week!

  9. I haven't heard of any of these books but from the covers The Treacherous Curse and City of Lies look pretty good to me. Yes, busy is good, as long as you're enjoying yourself for the most part πŸ˜‰

  10. I remember the fun of marching band season. So fun but so crazy! It definitely cuts down on reading time. I really want to read the Jenn McKinlay books. I've really enjoyed her cozy mysteries and this dog series is pulling at me hard! Have a great week!

  11. Devils and Thieves — couldn't resist that title, and I wasn't disappointed — it's such a cool premise. A Death in Live Oak sounds intriguing as well — thank you for the intro to a new author!
