Stacking the Shelves #113

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality.

My Life

I have been on vacation this week which is always nice.  This wasn’t really a relaxing vacation though.  We had 4 college visits for my daughter scheduled which are actually very time consuming.  I took my daughter to three of the visits but stayed home with the dogs and a book for the college that is out of state.  My daughter will probably end up going to the school that is about 3 1/2 hours away but we feel like we need to check out all of the possibilities.

It has rained almost every day during my vacation.  So we have had a muddy backyard and 3 dogs that are stuck in the house because they do not want to get wet to deal with most days which is just a lot of fun. The sun did come out on Friday and I hope it decides to stick around for a bit.

Books Borrowed

Bittersweet by Sarina Bowen (Library via Hoopla)

I adored the forth book in Sarina Bowen’s True North series so I thought it was time to check out the beginning of the series.  I hope to get started with this one soon.

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!

  1. Ugh, this rain has been driving me crazy! Then with our dogs, one has no problem, doing his business in the rain, the other doesn't like it. He keeps coming to do the door without doing anything! It's frustrating to get him to go! Lol! Glad the college visits went well! Hope she gets into her first choice!

Nice new read! Total new to me one but I hope you love it once you read it!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

  2. Yes, that is a busy week, but glad you pretty much have the college question sorted out. Hope you enjoy your Bowen book.

    Happy Easter, Carole!

  3. College visiting can be daunting, so good luck with all that. 🙂 Hope she finds a great place to get her schooling. It's cool when they have choices I had to just go to the school nearest me as I couldn't afford anything else. lol

  4. This weather is crazy. It can't decide what it wants. we were almost 90 and sunny last week – now rain and 70's. I just wan the pollen to be done with.

I haven't read this series yet but I've always enjoyed Bowen's books.

  5. You are so lucky your daughter is looking at so many school's in state. I had to drive to Boston, Pittsburgh, and Syracuse, when my daughter was doing visits. Hated it! I hope you get to Bittersweet, that series is so good.

    • She is looking but I am 90% sure she is going to end up in a different state. As long as it isn't too far, I am good. I am back at work next week so I will be back to listening to more audiobooks.

  6. One thing I don't miss now that I live in NYC is the mud that happens on rainy days in the country. Ugh.

Hope you enjoy your new book!

  7. Those college visits are definitely exhausting but hopefully she picks the right one. I have one at a school 5 hours away and it does make things a little challenging at times. She had something go out on her car that my husband could have easily replaced but she ended up having to take to a shop which costs about 3x as much. At least we have a mechanic we like there! Staying at home with a book sounds heavenly! Glad you enjoyed your vacation even if it wasn't particularly relaxing! Have a great week!

    • My daughter is looking at a school 3.5 hours from home. We looked at a more local school and I pointed out to her that she could call us for help if she were there a lot more easily. I have a feeling that I will need to find a mechanic in Kentucky!
