May 2018
May was quite a month! Things started out really busy for us with end of the school year activities. Just as I thought things would calm down a neighbor’s tree fell on the power lines coming into my house causing some damage and a small fire that was quickly put out thanks to a quick thinking neighbor. We ended up being without power for 5 nights. When everything was finally restored, I had a ton of cleaning to do and groceries to re-stock. Everything is fixed at this point and nobody was hurt (although my wallet is a bit lighter) so all is well.
My reading was way down for the month at only 13 total books which was really no surprise with everything going on during the month. I did have a couple of great reads during the month, a few that were okay, and couple that weren’t really for me. I hope to make a bigger dent in the tbr pile in June.

It looks like you had a pretty good month, considering how busy you were! Well done!
Thanks, Chuckles!
Wow what a great month! Happy June!
Thanks, Cyndy!
13 is still awesome. I haven't even looked at what I want to read this month. In fact, I'd be glad if I had three reviews from May done at this point. I'm so glad the damage wasn't worse but it stinks that your wallet took a hit!
I am forever behind with reviews. Hopefully, my wallet will recover 🙂
For a hectic month, 13 books is really good. I’m glad the damage to your house wasn’t too bad. Have a great June!

Thanks, Joann!
Looks like you read some pretty great books this month.
It was a good reading month, Abby!
13 books read despite everything that has been going on is excellent! Oh goodness, glad to hear you guys recovered well from that. 5 days without power? did you get a generator?
No generator. We were offered one but I didn't want it. We have a gas stove, gas hot water heater, candles, and a cooler so we were fine.
wow 5 nights! That is intense
It was okay but my husband was ready for it to come back on!
Yay, you read some great books and have some great ones coming up. I rarely read print anymore. Anne – Books of My Heart
I really prefer ebooks but pick up print books from time to time.
Despite the hectic end of the month you did really good! 🙂
Thanks, Stormi!
You did well despite the challenges.
Thanks, Nadene!
You did have quite the month. Hopefully June will quiet down for you. Love seeing your book stats. You're doing great getting to 10 Blogger Shame books already.
Wishing you a lovely June, Carole!
Thanks, Sophia Rose!
It has been quite the challenging month! 13 is still a pretty great reading month – especially with the end of the year + fire issues. I'm really hoping to get to Rainy Day Friends soon. I loved the first 2 books.
I actually think I got more reading done while the power was out but that end of the school year stuff kept me hopping for sure!
Yeah, May was pretty busy for me too 🙂 I'm glad everything was fixed! Now you can put it all behind you.
And I only read 11 books, so you definitely did great 🙂
Have a great June!
It has been really busy around here. I am so ready for things to calm down a bit. Thanks, Evelina!
That tree falling had to be so scary. I'm glad everything is now fixed thought but still…
It was pretty scary to think about what could have happened.
Thank goodness for quick-thinking neighbors. Sorry the fire was tough on your pocket book, though.

I am so thankful that help was called right away.
You had quite a month, Carole! Thirteen books in a month would be a lot for me, but I know it's all relative. I am glad you read some good ones! I have two of your upcoming books on my own shelf and am looking forward to them (Bring Me Their Hearts and Stray Magic). I really want to read the others as well though! I hope you have a great week, Carole!
Thanks, Wendy!
Sorry about all the house trouble. That could not have been fun to deal with. Your stats for NG/EW are really good. I am awful with EW, but determined to get both NG and EW in order. I am excited to read Rainy Day Friends. Shalvis always delights me, and I really enjoyed the first book in the series.
I do have quite a few NG books to get through but I am finally making some progress!
Yikes about the tree/power lines! At least no-one was hurt. <3
Exactly!
I like how reading 13 books is a 'down' for you. For me, that is a very very good month! Hehehe. I am glad you've been able to get everything fixed up at home as well. That couldn't have been easy :/
It was a slower reading month for me but it is what it is.
13 books is still a pretty good number (better than how many books I usually read per month). Glad your neighbor put out the fire at your house! Glad that you and your family are doing alright after the blackout. Hope you have a great June!

Glad the month calmed down for you! I have the Shalvis up next, too 🙂
I am looking forward to it. Shalvis is always a lot of fun!
Lucky 13 books! I have Jill Shalvis' new book on my kindle and it looks fun to read over summer. Right now I'm still catching up on promised reviews.
