Stacking the Shelves #124

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality.

My Life

My daughter has been away at band camp all week so it has been pretty quiet around my house.  The good news is that me and my husband do still like each other πŸ™‚  I do have to admit that I was pretty tired after our trip from St. Louis to Bloomington, Indiana and back on Sunday to get my daughter to her camp.  We are making the same trip today to pick her up and we will see her perform while at the college.  Believe it or not, she starts drum major camp tomorrow so quiet time with my husband isn’t quite over.

Books Added

When Twilight Burns by Colleen Gleason (Kindle Purchase)

This is the fourth book in The Gardella Vampire Hunters series and I just had to buy it as soon as I finished reading the third book, The Bleeding Dusk.  I am having a fantastic time with this series!

Year One by Nora Roberts (Audible Purchase)
Sick House by Jeff Strand (Audiobook Boom)
Illegal by John Dennehy (Author – Won @ Olivia’s Catastrophe)
Huntress Moon by Alexandra Sokoloff (Audible Purchase)
Blood Moon by Alexandra Sokoloff (Audible Purchase)
Cold Moon by Alexandra Sokoloff (Audible Purchase)
Bitter Moon by Alexandra Sokoloff (Audible Purchase)
Hunger Moon by Alexandra Sokoloff (Audible Purchase)

I added a lot of audiobooks to my pile this week.  I just can’t resist a good sale!  I grabbed Year One when it was offered for $3.95 as the daily deal since I have been thinking of adding it for a while.  I was able to get a copy of Sick House for review and I must say I am really looking forward to jumping into that one. I won a copy of Illegal from a contest over at Olivia’s Catastrophe which sounds really interesting based on Olivia’s review.  I also added all 5 books from Alexandra Sokoloff’s Huntress/FBI Thrillers series.  I have actually read and enjoyed Huntress Moon but I really need to revisit that one before moving forward with the series. The Kindle versions for all 5 books were on sale for $1.99 with and extra $1.99 to add the Audible version and I decided to jump onthe deal since R.C. Bray is the narrator.

  1. Yay for quiet time with the husband! I hope your daughter learned a lot at band camp, or gained lots of practice at least. It looks like you have a lot of listening ahead of you! πŸ™‚

    Thanks for sharing.

  2. Whew, back to back camps. Neat for her, but also neat for you. πŸ™‚

Love the haul. I get so excited when I see a Kindle sale that has an Audible sale to piggy back it.

    Enjoy your goodies!

    • The school requires that she go to the drum major camp. She wasn't really excited about that one but at least it was close by so it was quick getting her settled.

I love getting the add on audio for such a great price!

  3. It must have been nice to get a little bit of time alone together. I don't think I could keep up with all your daughter's activities!

  4. It's a good think you and your husband still like each other with all that alone time! πŸ˜‰ You got a lot of great looking books! Hope you enjoy them!

    Happy reading!

  5. It's good to hear you and the hubs still like each other. Your daughter's dedication to her craft is incredible, and so is your support for her. Oooh, look at all those audiobooks. Those are great sales. Enjoy!

  6. What instrument does your daughter play? I went to jazz band camp (saxophone). I also bought Year One since it looks great. I haven't read the Huntress FBI series I'll have to look it over. Anne – Books of My Heart

  7. Quiet time with my husband is so rare . . . I know you are enjoying having some with yours! I hope your daughter is enjoying band camp. I love Colleen Gleason's books. I need to figure out where I left off and start reading them again! Thank you for the reminder. I hope you enjoy Alexandra Sokoloff's series. I read most of them and enjoyed them–they are quite dark. I hope you enjoy all your new books! Have a great week, Carole.

    • My husband and I have spent so much of our lives chasing kids so it is really nice to have some quiet time together. I am having a fantastic time with the Colleen Gleason series. I am hooked! I did read the first book in the Sokoloff series and I like darker stories so I think I should be good.

  8. Your daughter is a drummer? My niece got her first proper drumkit last Christmas and apparently she loves it. Fortunately I am usually several hundred miles away!!

I think I have the first three book in Gleasons series. Have to check on that. Enjoy all your new books and audio book too.

  10. Glad you and your husband still like each other! It's always a bit strange to have a quiet house but you've more than earned some peace and quiet after the last little while you've had! Hope your daughter enjoys band camp and drum major camp. I had no idea what being a drum major entailed until my kids were in bad. It's a tough job! Have a great week and enjoy your books!

  11. This past week was my birthday so I got a lot of Amazon credit. I bought Strange the Dreamer and pre-ordered Addicted to Outrage (which doesn't come out until November, so I won't be reading that any time soon).

I'm not familiar with any of the books that you got this week.

  12. Awww that's so cute about you and your hubby still liking each other. πŸ˜€ Yay for audio deals! Hope you enjoy them. Have a great week.

  13. I really need to get into audiobooks. I want to read on my commute on the train but just can't read ANYTHING with a person next to me. It's a struggle. I hope you enjoy all of your new additions!

Have a fabulous week, Carole. =)

  14. Sounds like your daughter has a really busy summer. I remember being in band and how busy it keeps you.
