I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality.
My Life
Well, this week pretty much sucked. Nothing I can really talk about but traumatic nonetheless. The highlights of the week involved my daughter. On Tuesday, she performed in her final high school band concert. She played in both the Jazz Ensemble and Wind Ensemble. It was really nice how they honored the seniors at the end of the event. On Thursday, we were back at the school for her final high school Orchestra concert. Seniors were prom attire to this concert which made them all very easy to spot on the stage. We also went with her to a MasterClass with a tuba player from the Chicago Symphony and it was fun to see her do her thing on stage with a pro.
For anyone that is curious about all of the band stuff that I have talked about over the years, I thought I would share a video from a couple of weeks ago. My daughter is the featured trombone player standing in front of the rest of the band for this piece.
I was pretty horrible in regards to reading and the blog this week. Posts went up but I didn’t really do anything else. I just didn’t have it in me this week. I hope to catch up with everyone soon.
Books Added
Where the Light Enters by Sara Donati (Publisher)
The Furies by Katie Lowe (Publisher)
Mom’s Perfect Boyfriend by Crystal Hemmingway (Publisher)
Kingdom of Exiles by Maxym M. Martineau (Publisher – Bookish First)
My mailbox was pretty busy this week! All four of these books sound great although I am slightly shocked by the size of the Sara Donati title. I can’t wait to get started with these.
What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!

I hope the trauma is at least short lived and everything is okay even though it sucks right now. I can definitely understand not getting much reading done but how fun to see your daughter play! Hope this week is going much much better.
