Stacking the Shelves #176

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality.

My Life

This has been a really hard week.  I am emotionally drained and physically exhausted.  We had to say goodbye to my sweet Cookie.  Cookie was such a good dog and we loved her very much.  She was really my dog.  She loved the whole family but I was her person.  She would follow me around the house and always usually listened to me.  She was 14 years old and I know she lived a good life but saying goodbye is really hard.

Today we are having my daughter’s graduation party.  I think that we have invited over 50 people to my house and I am honestly now sure how this is going to work.  Hopefully, everyone has fun and the weather cooperates.

I am hoping for a nice quiet week next week.

Books Added

Lost World by Kate L. Mary (Kindle Unlimited)

After finishing the audiobooks for the first three books in Kate L. Mary’s Broken World series,  I wanted to see what would happen next for the group.  They haven’t made audiobooks for the rest of the series but the books are available in Kindle Unlimited.  Since I am currently enrolled in the program, I picked up the next book and have already finished it.

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!

  1. So sorry for your loss. One of our dogs is almost 14 and he has cancer. We're keeping him happy and comfortable and he's doing pretty good. But we all know it's coming and it's really hard. Our other dog will not be able to cope when his brother leaves us. He can never handle it when the other has to get groomed in the driveway. Though last time the groomer did let him sit in her bus with her as she trimmed his brother up, so that was nice. But yes, I am so sorry for your loss.

I hope the weather will cooperate for you today since it was supposed to be rain-free yesterday we all know how that turned out! Lol.

Nice new read too! That's a new to me one. I hope you enjoy it!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

  2. Carole I am so sorry. I went through this last September. Hang in there – at least that's what I tell myself. That's why I'm sitting here blog hopping instead of packing. We closed yesterday and today we pick up Lulu plus all our appliances get delivered/ installed. This whole week is a barnburner. I hope you have great weather today. I think it is HOT everywhere. Of course I have 95-98 for moving this week.

  3. Oh so hard to lose your pet companion. I know it will take a while to grieve her.
Crossing fingers for the party to go like a charm for you and your family. Congrats to dear daughter. 🙂
Neat that the series worked out that you could keep going on KU.

    Have a good week, Carole!

  4. I'm so sorry for the loss of Cookie. I know exactly how you feel. It wasn't that long ago that I lost my horse of 22 years. I got her when I was 15 and going through a lot of crap. She kept me on the right path. I'm also afraid that I will be going through it again very soon with my dog who is 12 and is having some health issues. He still seems happy and not in pain, so we will deal with his health issues as long as that stays the case. I hope your party goes well. Have a great week.
