June 2019 Wrap Up

June 2019
Can someone please explain to me how it is already July?  June seemed to speed by in a blur.  I really thought that June was going to be a quiet month but I was very wrong.  At the beginning of the month, someone who wasn’t paying attention hit our van.  I feel like I have been dealing with insurance all month and I am still not finished with everything.

It was not a great time for us to buy a vehicle since my husband just started a job at the very end of May after being unemployed for a couple of months.  I still found myself looking for a car to replace the totaled van.  We bought a used Jeep Grand Cherokee in great shape and I like it a lot but the whole process of buying a car is exhausting.

My sweet Cookie dog seemed to really have a dramatic decline in health during the month.  I spent a lot of time helping her walk to the back door to get outside and helping her get up.  Her muscles just couldn’t do it anymore and she had been in kidney failure for over 6 months.  We had to make a really difficult decision and said goodbye to her just a few days ago.

We wrapped up the month by hosting my daughter’s graduation party.  We invited family and friends.  We had a better turnout than I expected and ended up with over 50 people at our house for the party.  We do not have a big house so it was pretty crazy for a while but I survived.

I looked at the calendar and July appears to be open.  Assuming nothing else happens outside of my control that takes up all of my time, I hope to get back on track with visiting other blogs.  I really miss everyone and can’t wait to get back into my familiar routines.

Books Read
My plan to read from rotating categories pretty much fell apart back in April.  I am still having a harder time focusing on books than I normally would.  I did try to get back on the plan and fill in some of the slots that I missed in April while also trying to stay current.  It will probably be a few months before I can really get back on the plan.

  1. This year seems to be speeding by but at least I do have something to show for it. July is going to be busy as we continue sorting home and garden!

  2. Sorry to hear about your dog. 🙁 Reading wise you did really good in June!! Hope you enjoy those you have planned for July!

  3. Life can be so hard. I'm sorry to hear about your car and your dog. I can't imagine hosting 50 people ugh. It sounds like a lot of work. Moving forward in July will no doubt have it's own worries. I hope you are having a wonderful Canada Day 1st of July and happy 4th of July if you are american.

  4. ((HUGS)) You had a tough month. I hope July is an easier month for you. The Friend Zone was a total hit for me too. That ONE part was a little unnecessary, but I still adore the book, and cannot wait to see what else Jimenez has in store for us.

  5. Looks like you really got a lot read especially with everything going on. Once again, I'm so sorry about Cookie. And you are right, car shopping is THE WORST!

  6. I am so sorry about Cookie. You certainly have had a rough couple months. I hope July is much calmer and better for you. Congratulations on your daughter's graduation! That's a definite bright spot.

I kind of just disappeared in June and will try to do better in July. At least my reading was up., 🙂

Have a great July, Carole. Happy Reading!

  7. I hope July is calmer for you. My July is as crazy hectic as your June but all about moving, medical appointments and a new dog.
