I am really excited to participate in The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Reading Reality.

My Life

This week felt pretty busy. Last Sunday, my daughter and her boyfriend came to visit for a few days. We had a family pizza party on Sunday with my mom and older daughter with her husband. My daughter and her boyfriend stayed until Tuesday. Things took a more somber tone on Thursday evening when my husband and I went to an area funeral home to pay our respects to our sister-in-law for the loss of her mother.

My full-time job was very quiet with the owner out of town for the week. I spent a lot of time alone in the office which I actually enjoy. I also started my new part-time job. I haven’t really had to do too much yet since I have only worked one shift. I am just amazed that I get to spend the day in a bookstore and get paid for it. I work 3 shifts next week which should be too much.

I didn’t do a great job of keeping up with comments or blog hopping this past week since I was so busy. I am hoping to work on that and try to do better next week.

How was your week?

What I’m Reading

I read 3 books this week. I started the weed out listening to The Turncoat by T.J. London which I really enjoyed. I then shifted gears to listen to With Love, from Cold World by Alicia Thompson. I loved watching Temperance Brennan work to solve a couple of cases in The Bone Hacker by Kathy Reichs.

I am currently working my way through 3 different books. I have read around 20% of Omen of Ice by Jus Accardo and am loving it. I have listened to about half of Masters of Death by Olivie Blake and am enjoying it. I have listened to approximately 30% of Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree and think that it is off to a good start.

Books Added

Good Bad Girl by Alice Feeney (Publisher); Bookshops & Bonedust (Publisher); Omen of Ice by Jus Accardo (Publisher)

  1. Hooray for a quiet week at the office. Two of my three bosses were out on Friday and I loved the quiet day. I see so many raves for Legends & Lattes. Glad you are enjoying it so far!

  2. Glad you had a good week! And yay for the B&N job! I always felt like I should’ve worked in a bookstore back then but I don’t think they were as willing to hiring teens for some reason! Lol.

Nice new reads too! Those are new to me ones for the most part. I hope you enjoy them all!

I want to read Alice Feeney at some point…

  4. It’s nice your daughter was able to come for a visit. I give you so much credit working two jobs. I can understand blog hopping taking a backseat to your responsibilities. Sorry for your loss. ((HUGS))

  5. I think a quiet week at the office is always good news. It’s great you had some family time although some of it was sad. I hope the new job adds a nice extra for you without being too stressful. Love that Insta post.

  6. So great your daughter and her boyfriend were able to come and visit for a few days and you got a quiet week at work. I’m glad the first shift at the bookstore went great.

    Have a good week, Carole!

  7. I’ve never seen Omen of Ice but need to go look it up. I also haven’t read Legends and Lattes but I did buy a copy a month or so ago. Glad you had some nice family time.

  8. Nice that you got to visit with both your daughters. Glad to hear you had a quiet week at work and that you’re settling into B&N. I can understand being tight with time with everything going on! That is a fun IG post. πŸ™‚

  9. That’s awesome that your part time job is at a bookstore! The pizza party sounds fun though I’m sorry if the family time was for a somber event. Enjoy your reading and have a great week!
