A missing child is every parent's nightmare. What comes next is even worse in this riveting thriller from the bestselling and award-winning author of Bring Her Home.

Tom and Abby Stuart had everything: a perfect marriage, successful careers, and a beautiful twelve-year-old daughter, Caitlin. Then one day Caitlin vanished without a trace. For a while they grasped at every false hope and followed every empty lead, but the tragedy ended up changing their lives, overwhelming them with guilt and dread, and shattering their marriage.

Four years later, Caitlin is found alive but won't discuss where she was or what happened. And when the police arrest a suspect connected to her disappearance, she refuses to testify. Taking matters into his own hands, Tom tries to uncover the truth—and finds that nothing that has happened yet can prepare him for what he is about to discover.

Why did I add Cemetery Girl to my bookshelf?

I have enjoyed several books by David Bell so when I saw this audiobook on sale, I decided to pick it up. It has spent the last few years hanging out on my digital bookshelves being ignored. It looks like most of my Goodreads friends either loved this book or didn’t care for it at all. I am going to assume that I will fall into the first category since I have appreciated other books written by this author. I do love a good thriller and this book is rather short so I should be able to fit it in sometime soonish. Maybe.

What are your thoughts? Have you read this book?  Would you recommend it?

  1. That’s a new to me one! It’s always tremulous picking up a book where half your friends loved it and the others didn’t. It always makes me wonder which way will I fall? Hopefully your instincts are right and you will love it!

  2. Yeah, I think if you’re already familiar and like his writing style that you’ll be one who enjoys this one though it got mixed reviews.

  3. I don’t think I’ve read any of David Bell’s books. I am not sure I could read this one right now given my daughter is 12 and missing children’s stories tend to get to me. This does sound good though, and I hope you enjoy it when you get to it, Carole!

  4. This looks like it could be a really good read though I’m not sure I could handle the disappearance of the child. I’m able to get through some books but not others that handle that topic. I hope you love it!
