I am really excited to participate in The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Reading Reality.

My Life

This was a pretty average week. We visited with my mom and ran a few errands on Sunday. On Monday, we had an ice storm and I was able to work from home. Unfortunately, I had left everything at the office on Friday since I had no idea that they were predicting bad weather. It turned into pretty relaxing day and I got some extra reading time in. Of course, this meant that I was behind on Tuesday and that trend continued for the rest of the week.

I worked at the bookstore on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday this week. I did my best to get around to see as many people as I could on the days that I didn’t have to work both jobs.

How was your week?

What I’m Reading

I finished 3 books this week. I randomly picked up Red River Seven by A.J. Ryan last weekend to look at it and the next thing I knew I couldn’t put it down. Black River Orchard by Chuck Wendig satisfied my need for horror and left me wondering if I could ever look at an apple the same way again. The Invocations by Krystal Sutherland was an excellent YA read that straddled the line between fantasy and horror.

I would have finished Prima Facie by Suzie Miller if I hadn’t stopped to read a different book early in the week. I am about halfway through this one and it is a shorter read so I should be wrapping it up soon. I have heard great things about Done and Dusted by Lyla Sage and thought that I would give it a try. I am about 2/3 of the way through this audiobook as I type this and can’t wait to get back to it.

  1. I have a hold in for Done and Dusted, so it’s encouraging to see you enjoyed it. I am always leery of those social media sensation books.

  2. Yeah I wasn’t expecting Monday to be so “bad!” When they canceled Brigid Kemmerer’s signing I was devastated but oh so glad she still came on Saturday! Still had rain but at least the temperature was above freezing! Lol.

Nice new reads! Lots of new ones this week! All are pretty much new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

  3. Bummer about the ice but great that you got to work from home! IT’s nice not to have to get dressed and go out! I’m curious about Done and Dusted now! I have The Search Party, too. Hope we both love it! Have a wonderful week, Carole!

  4. Glad you had a pretty steady week and could work safely from home during the ice storm. Ha, fun that you just picked up the book to browse it and got hooked in right to the finish.

    Have a good week, Carole!

  5. While I am happy you had a fairly easy Monday, I am sorry you had to make up for it the rest of the week. Hopefully this week will be better for you. Red River Seven sounds like a great read. I love it when I get so invested in a book I don’t want to put it down. I hope you enjoy your current reading and your new books, Carole! They all look like they will be good. Have a great week!

  6. We’ve had some weird weather but nothing too bad. Although we did have some super cold nights. I’m really curious about Red River Seven so glad to hear you enjoyed it. Hope you have a great week!

  7. Since I work from home, I don’t get snow days anymore! But we also haven’t had bad snow like we did when the kids were little. It would be nice to have one snow day, just for an excuse to be lazy all day and hang with my daughter.
