I am really excited to participate in The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Reading Reality.

My Life

I have been in a bit of a mood this week. I have been juggling so much for so long and think that I just needed a break from things this week. I didn’t do much with the blog or Instagram. I didn’t even read very much. I am sure that I will get back to the swing of things this next week.

This week was pretty uneventful. I worked from home on Monday so that I could take my husband to the oral surgeon. His infection was a lot worse than they thought and he is back on more antibiotics. I am crossing my fingers that he will not need any further treatment. The good news is that he didn’t pass out this time around so that is a plus!

How was your week?

What I’m Reading

I only read 2 books this week. I started several others but was a bit of a moody reader this week. I had a great time with Right on Cue by Falon Ballard. I then randomly picked up Ill Will by Dan Chaon and now that I am finished, I honestly am still trying to decide what I think.

I am about 25% of the way through The Night Ends with Fire by K.X. Song and am really enjoying this book. I didn’t pick up The Warm Hands of Ghosts by Katherine Arden but plan to get back to it as soon as possible. I have listened to a little more than half of The Trail of Lost Hearts by Tracey Garvis Graves and am loving it!

Books Added

The House of Eve by Sadeqa Johnson (Publisher); Lady Scandal by Laura Lee Guhrke (Publisher)

  1. I hope your husband is doing well. Oral infections are no joke. I also hope you are getting some “me” time. Be well, Carole, and glad to hear you enjoyed/are enjoying the Ballard and Graves books. I loved both.

  2. Uneventful is good in my book. But I hope your husband improves and doesn’t need more treatment. I am in a mood too. I’m more picky about my reads but still I have plenty of the ones I want to read. I hope this week is much better. Take care of you!

  3. Sometimes a break from extras and routine is a great recharge for the spirit. Glad your husband’s visit with the oral surgeon was better and that he got the antibiotics to fight the infection.

    Have a great week, Carole!

  4. Fingers crossed the new antibiotics finally kick your husband’s infection! I don’t wonder you’re in a mood. You’ve been going nonstop the two years! I think I’d need about a month in bed with the covers over my head! I hope you’re having a great week!

  5. I hope your husband’s infection resolves! I can understand why you wouldn’t be in the mood to blog or read. You’ve had so much going on, Carole!

I’m looking forward to the new Tracey Garvis Graves. It’s been a while since I’ve read anything by her. I also want to listen to Everyone on This Train is a Suspect as I enjoyed the first book. Happy reading and hope you get some rest!
