Stacking the Shelves #169

Posted May 5, 2019 by Carole in Stacking the Shelves / 18 Comments

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality.

My Life
Things have gotten busier at my house.  I have a feeling that the month of May is going to be pretty crazy.  Last Sunday, my daughter performed with her jazz ensemble at a fundraising concert for her school.  On Wednesday, we attended the band awards ceremony.  It was wonderful to watch my daughter’s hard work being recognized.  On Friday, my daughter attended her senior prom.  It is really all coming to an end.

Reading has been pretty slow for me but I have had some luck with audiobooks.  I did get my posts up this past week but I was terrible when it came to commenting.  I am really sorry and hope to do better moving forward.

Books Added

The Flight Girls by Noelle Salazar (Publisher)
The Passengers by John Marrs (Publisher)

I am pretty excited about both of the books that found a spot in my mailbox this week.  They both sound really good and I can’t wait to start reading both books.

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!

  1. What a beautiful dress choice! I love black and red together. Don't worry about comments Carole-it has been a tough and busy few weeks for you so we all understand!

  2. I hope your daughter enjoyed her prom? I've never been to one because the idea hadn't been adopted in the UK when I was at school. The end of term disco wasn't quite the same!

  3. Ahhh, all the end of the school year events. Glad to see she was rewarded for her music efforts and her gown is lovely.
Nice that you are seeing a return to your mojo, too. Always nice to get some book pretties in the mail. 🙂

    Have a great week, Carole!

  4. Your daughter is going to have you in a whirlwind this month. Just hang on and enjoy the ride – it only happens this one time for her. Take a bit of time for you. I hope you find the best books!

  5. Oh, your daughter and her dress are lovely. ?

It is a melancholy time when high school ends for our kids. I miss going to concerts and musicals. I hope your daughter is continuing on with her music. My son completely dropped performing when he went to college. ?

    Have a wonderful week. ?

  6. Your daughter looks so pretty! Hope she enjoys the prom! When it's busy the only reading I can squeeze in is audio books, too. Hope things calm down for you, Carole. 🙂

  7. That's a beautiful gown – and a beautiful daughter. I hope she had fun. I hope May isn't so busy you don't find time to do some of your favorite things!

  8. Pretty dress, hope you aren't to busy but I am sure with school letting out and everything it could be a bit on the busy side this month.

    Have a great week!

  9. Your daughter looked gorgeous at her prom and I hope you enjoyed the awards ceremony as well. I can see how May is going to be a busy month if this any indication!
