home, Hanna resolves to recall that traumatic night so she can testify
in the retrial, exonerate her daughter, and keep her husband’s murderer
in jail.
But as those memories resurface, Hanna faces the question of whether she knows her own daughter-and whether she ever did.
Why did I add Lacy Eye to my bookshelf?
The kind people over at Grand Central Publishing sent me a copy of this book back in March of 2016 and I still haven’t read it. I can be terrible at keeping up with review books at times and it seems that once I forget about a book it stays truly forgotten. It seems like it is rated pretty highly by my Goodreads friends who have read it but I did notice a few reviewers that didn’t care for the book at all. Hopefully, I can get to it and mark another past due book off of my list.
A Quick Update
I had plans to be back this week but that hasn’t happened so far. I guess the week isn’t over so you never know. I have learned that buying a house and moving is a lot of work but it is nothing compared to selling a house. Getting our old house ready to sell has been so exhausting. We are needing to do new floors throughout, paint the whole house, we had to replace some drywall, there is electrical work to do, and landscaping to top it off. This week’s plan is to tackle the electrical items, hang the drywall, and possibly install a new stove and hood. I am back at work full time and there just are not enough hours in the day to get everything done. We have hired a lot of the work at the old house so the list of things that my husband and I need to do is shrinking rapidly but it is a lot to coordinate.
The new house is good. Our dogs are adjusting and we have hopped in the pool a few times to relax after a long day. There are a few things that I would like to change but nothing that cannot wait. I do miss curling up with a book and chatting with everyone and plan to start writing some reviews ASAP!

Some of the domestic thrillers are really gripping. Hope you're able to get to it soon and check it off the old review list.
Oh yes, the fixing up to sell is a huge part. I've watched my next door neighbor doing it and now the new neighbors are there prepping to move in. Hopefully you'll endure through all you need to still do.
I checked Goodreads, as it seemed familiar to me, especially since that title is so unique. I read it in 2015 and apparently enjoyed it. As I reread my review, I see that I had issues with most of the characters, and I probably wouldn't like it now. LOL. But I hope you do enjoy it.

I haven't seen this one before but it sounds fascinating.
As tiring as moving is, getting a house ready for sale can be even more so. We did that two years ago and it seemed like the list of things to do was never ending. I'm glad you've at least found a little time to relax poolside!
I watched a crime show where a daughter convinced her boyfriend to kill her mother. How awful! I would read this one, but it would break my heart.
I hear you about the home selling. I'm hoping we will make a move to NC in the next few years, so we have started the process of making some improvements to help the house sell. At least we will get a chance to enjoy some of the improvements before we move. Good luck in getting your house ready.

It's been over 15 years since I last moved and it's still very clear in mind how exhausting it was. I hope you find some time to relax:)
It certainly sounds like the selling has been a bit of a nightmare compared to the moving! I'll be having similar issues when my dad and I are ready to sell my uncle's house but that is months away yet.
This book sounds a good one. I am hooked just by reading the synopsis. I'll definitely add this to my TBR.
