September 2022 Wrap Up

September 2022

September was a month that I will never forget.  Things were hectic and somewhat crazy in the weeks leading up to the wedding.  For much of the month, I just wanted the wedding to start so I could quit working and just sit back and try to have a good time.  My daughter has now been married for a week and a few days and is happy with how things turned out so I guess we did well.

My husband and I took off a couple of days prior to the wedding to do a bunch of last-minute things.  On our first day off, we got a call early in the morning to let us know that my husband’s mother had taken a turn for the worse and would be entering hospice.  She ultimately passed away a couple of hours before the wedding began.  Once the wedding festivities were over, we switched gears to focus on saying goodbye.

I had a 10-day span during the month where I read next to nothing so I am a bit surprised that my monthly totals are as high as they are.  I basically took a break from everything that wasn’t an absolute necessity during these days and I am glad that I did.  I did try to write a few reviews for the blog just so I wouldn’t fall too far behind but that is it.  I am ending the month with 3,505 Instagram followers.

  1. You had quite an eventful month. Your stats are impressive given everything that happened. I am looking forward to the Hahn book. I think I will be reading it next week. May it be a winner for us both

    • I am eager to start reading Erin Hahn’s book! I have a couple that I need to read first but I am excited to start it.

  2. You did have a crazy, emotional month. Those are definitely good book totals. I want to read that Door County mystery one and loved the Killers of a Certain Age, too.

    Have a good October, Carole!

    • I was really surprised that I read as much as I did with everything going on. I think that you would enjoy A Death in Door County!

    • Who would have guessed that it would all happen on the same day? I was so touched that every member of my husband’s family came to my daughter’s wedding despite losing their mother just hours earlier.

  3. I’m so impressed you got any reading done with the crazy month you’ve had! I really want to read that Deanna Raybourn. I’ve really enjoyed everything I’ve read by her. I hope you have a nice tranquil relaxing October!

  4. A highly emotional month for sure – from both extremes of the spectrum. And yet you got SO much reading done! This is the first month I’ve done a monthly wrap up and I see you have a couple categories I didn’t think of that I’ll include next month. Hope October is calmer for you. Thanks for stopping by my wrap up.
